Distinguished by its impressive f/0.95 maximum aperture, this lens excels in low-light situations and affords impressive control over depth of field. Its optical design incorporates one extra-low dispersion element, which helps to reduce chromatic aberrations in order to realize a high degree of clarity and color accuracy. The lens's manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 2.1' away and an 11-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

Normal-length prime is designed for use with full-frame Canon EF-mount SLR cameras but can also be used with APS-C models where it provides an 80mm equivalent focal length.
