Intrepid Camera 4x5 Camera Overview

A compact and lightweight large format camera for photographers of all skill levels, the Intrepid 4 x 5 View Camera offers a wide range of camera movements and support for working with an extensive array of lenses with a standard Copal shutter. In its base configuration, the camera's removable red bellows provide 11.8" of extension to support working with long focal length lenses up to 300mm, and with an optional recessed lens board, you can use lenses as wide as 75mm. Full front movements are available as well as rear base tilt, and the rear standard rotates 360° for horizontal and vertical shooting. The aluminum base and rear-controlled linear focus mechanism ensure both stability and sharp focus.

The camera has a universal Graflok back supporting a wide variety of film holders, including the Lomography Instax Wide back. A bright ground glass featuring a half-inch grid is included, and an optional Fresnel is available for ultrawide-angle lenses.

  • Graflok back accepts all 4 x 5" sheet film holders as well as other Graflok-style holders, including the Lomography Instax Wide back.
  • Shift, rise, tilt, and swing movements benefit from Teflon-coated parts for smooth operation in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Includes removable bellows for working with a wide array of focal lengths, ranging from wide-angle to long lenses.
  • Bellows constructed from waterproof, super-durable vinyl with a triple-layered lightproof lining.
  • Rack and pinion style fine-geared focus control is aided by large rubber-covered knobs for added precision.
  • Accepts standard copal shutter style 4 x 5 lenses from 75mm to 300mm. A 75mm lens requires a recessed lens board, which is available separately.
  • The aluminum base with 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 tripod sockets and rear-controlled linear focus mechanism ensures stability and consistent, pin-sharp focus.
