Based on the classic and unique optical design, the Nikon F MC-Helios #40-2 85mm f/1.5 from Zenit is a portrait-length prime lens characterized by its distinct image quality. Inspired by former Helios #40 lenses, which themselves were based on the ZEISS Biotar formula, this lens offers a swirly image quality with out of focus backgrounds while retaining sharpness on central subjects. The bright f/1.5 maximum aperture contributes to the ability to isolate subjects using depth of field and a 10-blade diaphragm further benefits the distinguished bokeh quality. This 85mm f/1.5 also features a unique dual aperture ring design, which lets you set the f/value with one ring while the second ring is used to switch quickly between the selected value and wide-open to benefit focusing operation.
