Capture up to UHD 4K high-resolution video with multiple recording and streaming options using this GY-HC500U 4K Pro Camcorder with M.2 SSD Media Adapter Kit from JVC. The kit includes the GY-HC500U 4K Pro camcorder and the M.2 SSD media adapter. The camcorder features a 1" CMOS sensor, 20x optical zoom, 40x digital zoom, live streaming up to HD video, and recording up to UHD 4K60 video.

The M.2 SSD media adapter fits into the camera's expansion slot and allows you to record onto a separately available M.2 SSD, so you can record up to 10-bit 4:2:2 UHD 4K60 video to an external drive while the camera's internal dual SD card slots allow you to record up to UHD 4K30. The caddy connects to a computer using a USB interface to offload your video for editing.

JVC GY-HC500U Handheld Connected Cam 1" 4K Professional Camcorder

JVC's GY-HC500U Handheld Connected Cam 1" 4K Professional Camcorder is a UHD 4K camcorder that shoots in both NTSC and PAL compatible frame rates and is designed to seamlessly work with both a traditional as well as IP workflows. It features a 1" CMOS sensor and an integrated 20x optical zoom lens, while the camera can create a 40x digital zoom. The camera can capture in UHD, HD, SD, and you can record SD as proxy, recording up to 30p to the built-in media card slots or 60/50p to an optional SSD. The camera supports HDR by recording in HLG or JLog1 (10-bit).

The camera captures in various flavors of ProRes as well as MP4, and it is capable of streaming HD over IP via wired connection. The integrated 20x zoom lens features three manual control rings for iris, focus, and zoom. The EVF features LCOS technology and over 1.2 million dots of resolution, while the built-in flip-out LCD viewfinder is just under 4" diagonally. The camera can live stream HD while recording 4K and outputting 4K via the HDMI output. It features IFB and return video over IP as well as auto FTP so your video files transfer automatically. It has 2 x SDHC/SDXC card slots and features a slot for an optional SSD for capturing UHD at 60/50p.

JVC M.2 SSD Media Adapter Caddy for GY-HC500/550 Camcorders

Use this M.2 SSD Media Adapter Caddy from JVC to record up to UHD 4K 60/50p, 10-bit ProRes 422 video on your GY-HC500 or GY-HC550 Connected Cam camcorder. This caddy accepts an M.2 SSD which allows the camera to record higher-resolution video compared to a maximum UHD 4K 30/25p using an SDHC/SDXC card. It installs into the built-in SSD expansion slot on the Connected Cam. The M.2 SSD media is not included with the adapter caddy. To offload your media to a computer, connect the caddy via its USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 interface.

Interface

The caddy inserts into the SSD expansion slot on a GY-HC500 or GY-HC550 camera. Connect the caddy to a computer using the USB 3.0/3.1 interface. USB 3.1 Gen 1 features a maximum throughput of 5 Gb/s. USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.0 are synonymous.
